SEMICON/FPD China 2026 opens in Shanghai: Global semiconductor industry focuses on China's innovation and green transformation

Shanghai News - On March 25th, the SEMICON China and FPD China 2026 exhibitions, jointly hosted by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI), China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, and other institutions, officially opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As the largest and most influential semiconductor and display industry event in the Asia-Pacific region, this edition of the exhibition, themed "Crossing Borders Globally, Connecting Hearts and Cores," gathered over 1,500 enterprises from around the world, with more than 5,000 booths, covering the entire industry chain from chip design, wafer manufacturing, advanced packaging, to display panels, attracting industry elites to explore new trends in the industry.

The exhibition site was orderly, with prominent signs at the audience entrance clearly indicating the admission process, such as real-name registration and certificate verification. At the same time, these signs conveyed the distinctive features of this exhibition: green exhibition and professional orientation. The sign stating "Non-degradable plastic bags are prohibited on site during the exhibition" echoed the global industry's focus on sustainable development; while the rule "Children are not allowed to enter" ensured the professional nature and safety standards of the semiconductor industry, creating a focused and efficient environment for industry exchanges.

The exhibition covers an area of over 100,000 square meters and hosts more than 20 high-end technology forums and industry summits concurrently, covering cutting-edge fields such as advanced manufacturing processes, third-generation semiconductors, AI chips, and Micro-LED displays. From breakthroughs in domestic substitution of equipment and materials, to the iterative upgrading of advanced packaging technology, and to the cross-industry integration of display and semiconductor technologies, the event showcases the latest achievements of China's semiconductor industry in technological innovation and industrial chain collaboration, and also establishes an important platform for cooperation and exchange among global enterprises.

Since its debut in Shanghai in 1988, SEMICON China has accompanied the development of China's semiconductor industry for over three decades, witnessing the industry's leap from catching up to making breakthroughs. This exhibition serves not only as a showcase for technological achievements but also as a bellwether for industry trends.
